The area around Sisimiut offers plenty of exiting skiing and snowboarding. Here you will find endless possibilities for off-trail tour- and telemark skiing and just outside the town you will find very good cross country facilities.

If you want to practice your snowboarding or alpine skiing skills before going out on your own, there is a fine little slope with a ski lift just 6,5 km outside of town in an attractive area of high mountains.

And finally you can experience a very unique ski area on the glacier Aqqutikitsoq, completely isolated from civilisation in a perfect off-piste terrain, both summer and winter. The area offers a lot of challenging adventures and impressive nature.

Daytrip around the Alanngorsuaq mountain
Exiting trip in the hinterland of Sisimiut in very beautiful surroundings. The ski trip can be adjusted in difficulty after individual skills.

Level: Beginners to more experienced
Equipment: Back country- or telemark skies
Duration: App. 2 hours

Three day ski trek
The first part of the trip is an ascent to the viewpoint of Qiterlinnguaq, where the night is spend in a cabin. Second day offers a descend to the frozen fiord of Kangerluarsuk Tulleq. After spending the night in another cabin, we descent to Sisimiut through very varied terrain.

Level: Medium to experienced
Equipment: Back country or telemark skies
Duration: 3 days

Freeriding on Aqqutikitsoq
Very good snowconditions, beautifull nature and awesome terrain. Transportation to the glacier by snowmobiles. Accommodation on basecamp in cabins or in tents, witch is starting point for the tours.

Level: Experienced to expert
Equipment: Randonné (alpine skies w. bindings for walking), telemark, snowboard/snowshoes
Duration: 5-6 days
